Freed vs Sunoh.ai

Last VerifiedAugust 4, 2026
Verdict

This is the cleanest version of the bundled against standalone decision, because both vendors publish a price and both let you try it without a contract. Sunoh is 149 dollars per provider per month and lives inside eClinicalWorks, where it writes structured content into the Progress Note and pre fills labs, imaging, medications and referrals. Freed is 39 to 119 dollars, works anywhere through a browser extension, and pastes a finished note with no structured write back at all. So the question is not which scribe is better but whether discrete data has to land in your chart. If you run eClinicalWorks and want the orders pre filled, Sunoh is doing something Freed cannot. If you want the lowest cost per clinician, a business associate agreement on every tier and no dependence on a record system relationship, Freed is nearly a third of the price.

Select Freed if
  • Pricing is published and so is the trial: 39 dollars a month for up to 40 notes, 79 unlimited, 119 with EHR push and coding, with a seven day trial that takes no credit card, against a record system module priced per provider inside a platform relationship.
  • A business associate agreement is included by default on every tier rather than gated, so the cheapest plan is a viable production configuration for a clinician handling protected health information.
  • The security disclosure is the most specific in the category: SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 described as independent third party audits, federal standard cryptographic modules, and all data processed and stored in United States data centres under an agreement with the hosting provider.
Select Sunoh.ai if
  • It writes into the chart rather than pasting into it. Structured import directly into the Progress Note with pre filled labs, imaging, medications, referrals and follow up appointments, including on mobile, where the alternative pastes a note through a browser extension with no structured write back.
  • Specialty reach that is enumerated and genuinely broad, including dermatology, rheumatology, behavioral health with DAP notes, dental periodontal charting and treatment plans, and vision, against a product strongest in primary care and documented as needing more editing in procedure heavy work.
  • For an eClinicalWorks practice it is the default option inside one of the largest ambulatory record footprints in the United States, at 149 dollars per provider per month with a free trial and no contract.

Disclosure

Sunoh's SOC 2 attestation is asserted only on third party comparison pages, several published by competitors, and was not reachable in the vendor's own materials across two passes, so treat it as unverified. Its adoption claims are inconsistent across its own site, and its audio retention window of roughly seven days is third party reported rather than vendor published.

Freed states that its models are trained only on de identified notes, which means customer content does train the model after de identification, a different commitment from not training on customer data at all. Neither vendor publishes an accuracy figure or a bias and accent performance statement.
