ModMed vs Sunoh.ai

Last VerifiedAugust 4, 2026
Verdict

Two record system native scribes competing for the specialty ambulatory practice, and the comparison is mostly a proxy for the platform underneath. ModMed sells eleven specialty specific record systems with protocol libraries, and its scribe inherits that depth along with the strongest external AI credential in this group, since the record system is certified to the decision support criterion with the scribe named as central to it. Sunoh sits inside one of the largest ambulatory footprints in the country, publishes 149 dollars per provider per month with a free trial, and pre fills orders rather than suggesting them. Sunoh is more open commercially and reaches further into the order. ModMed has the better specialty fit and the better credential. Neither is available to anyone outside its own platform.

Select ModMed if
  • Specialty depth is the platform's central differentiator and it is substantiated, with software for eleven medical specialties and named protocol libraries behind them.
  • A checkable training provenance claim, that the scribe was trained on de identified clinical data sampled from a very large encounter base and developed with on staff specialty physicians.
  • An externally audited AI credential rather than a self published one, with the record system certified to the decision support criterion and the scribe named as central to it.
Select Sunoh.ai if
  • It publishes a price and lets you try it, at a per provider monthly rate with a free trial requiring no contract, which almost no record system vendor does.
  • Order pre fill covers labs, imaging, medications, referrals and follow up appointments, including on mobile, which removes data entry rather than prompting for it.
  • The enumerated specialty reach is the widest of any embedded scribe here, extending into dental charting and vision.

Disclosure

Both scribes are only available inside their own record systems, so for nearly every practice this comparison is settled by a platform decision made years earlier. Sunoh's security attestation is asserted only on third party comparison pages, several of them published by competitors, and was not reachable in the vendor's own materials across two passes, so treat it as unverified. ModMed publishes no attestation of its own, no health privacy statement and no business associate terms. Neither publishes an accuracy figure or a bias and accent performance analysis.
