The comparison is only real for a practice willing to consider a record system change, since one product is bundled into a platform and the other sits on top of any platform. Compare total cost of ownership rather than the documentation line.
The two training positions are different commitments and both are narrower than they first read. Freed states that its models are trained only on de identified notes, which means customer content does train the model after de identification rather than not at all. Elation states that its third party model providers do not train on customer inputs or outputs, which is a commitment about the providers rather than about Elation, and nothing published says whether Elation itself uses content to improve its own features.
Elation's policy also states that it maintains SOC 2 compliance, without the report type, period or scope and with no retrievable report, and publishes no retention period for ambient audio or transcripts. Neither vendor publishes an accuracy figure.
