How are Elation Health and Freed priced and sold?

How do Elation Health and Freed handle patient data?
Elation's own handling is less specific. No retention period is given for Note Assist audio or transcripts inside Elation, there is no de identification position, and the policy does not say whether supporting the service includes improving Elation's own features.
In Freed's case, audio is held until the note and its quality checks are complete, then deleted automatically. Clinicians can edit or delete notes at any time, or set them to delete automatically after 30 days. An earlier version of this comparison said Elation publishes no position on whether customer data trains its models and that no attestation by the company was located. Its AI data use policy contradicts both. Corrected 15 September 2026.
The comparison is only real for a practice willing to consider a record system change, since one product is bundled into a platform and the other sits on top of any platform. Compare total cost of ownership rather than the documentation line.
The two training positions are different commitments and both are narrower than they first read. Freed states that its models are trained only on de identified notes, which means customer content does train the model after de identification rather than not at all. Elation states that its third party model providers do not train on customer inputs or outputs, which is a commitment about the providers rather than about Elation, and nothing published says whether Elation itself uses content to improve its own features.
Elation's policy also states that it maintains SOC 2 compliance, without the report type, period or scope and with no retrievable report, and publishes no retention period for ambient audio or transcripts. Neither vendor publishes an accuracy figure.
