DeepScribe positions its product for long, complex specialty visits rather than short, low acuity ones, with oncology at the center, two way integrations into Epic, OncoEMR, iKnowMed, athenahealth and NextGen, and a 98.8 KLAS Spotlight score, sold through demos and order forms. Freed says it is not built for large health systems, and offers published tiers from $39 a month, a business associate agreement on every plan, same day sign up, and notes pushed into browser based EHRs through a Chrome extension with no structured write back. DeepScribe's site offers a demo request and a sign in, its terms place fees, usage limits and other commercial terms in each order form, and it lists no rate, tier, unit of charge or trial.
For Freed, a seven day free trial opens the Premier features with no credit card needed. Eligible students, residents, trainees and fellows can get 12 months of Core at no cost, or up to 50 percent off monthly Premier for 24 months. How do DeepScribe and Freed handle patient data?
The business associate agreement governs protected health information, and DeepScribe describes encryption in transit and at rest, role based access, multifactor authentication and de identification of patient data, with a HIPAA audit report listed in its trust center.
In Freed's case, audio is held until the note and its quality checks are complete, then deleted automatically. Clinicians can edit or delete notes at any time, or set them to delete automatically after 30 days.
