Heidi holds ISO 42001, the audited AI management system standard, and states it is the first ambient scribe to do so, alongside ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and a SOC 2 Type II scoped to all five criteria including privacy. Dragon Copilot holds fewer named attestations for the product itself but publishes far more about the model, naming its limitations, its sub processors and its underperformance on some accents and dialects. Heidi also publishes real prices and reaches 110 languages across 190 countries; Dragon Copilot publishes none and reaches ten. The constraint that usually decides it is commercial rather than technical: Heidi gates both the organisation wide business associate agreement and push to chart behind its upper tiers, so a United States health system is buying the Practice or Enterprise product or it is not buying a compliant one.

- Native embedding rather than gated integration. Heidi's push to chart is restricted to the Practice and Enterprise tiers, with lower tiers relying on templates and copy workflows. Dragon Copilot is embedded in the record with structured capture and no tier gate on the integration.
- Model level disclosure. Heidi publishes no model name, no accuracy figure and no benchmark result, and its own governance strength sits at the management system level. Microsoft publishes named limitations, error modes and a sub processor list for the product itself.
- The business associate agreement is not a tier. Heidi's organisation wide agreement is reported as available only from the Practice tier upward, which is a procurement constraint a United States buyer has to plan around before a pilot rather than after.
