Corti vs Heidi Health (2026)

Verdict

Two answers to the same question, where does the clinical audio live and who controls it, and both are good answers by the standards of this category. Heidi operates region appropriate residency as a design property, holding United States data for United States users and Canadian data in Canada, and backs it with ISO 42001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and a SOC 2 Type II covering all five criteria including privacy. Corti goes further in one direction only: a sovereign healthcare AI cloud designed to run on any cloud or on premise and to stay portable, which removes the residency question instead of managing it. The practical split is what you are buying. Heidi is a finished product with published prices, 110 languages and a free tier. Corti is infrastructure you build on, with a live fact by fact review model no product here matches. Buy Heidi to deploy this quarter, Corti to own the stack.

The case for Corti
  • Data sovereignty as architecture rather than policy. A sovereign healthcare AI cloud that runs on any cloud or on premise and is deliberately portable off any single vendor, so clinical audio need never leave your own infrastructure or jurisdiction.
  • The oversight model is the finest grained in this category. Atomic clinical facts are surfaced as the consultation unfolds for the clinician to review, accept or adjust live, rather than presenting a finished narrative that a tired reviewer will skim.
  • Named and dated security attestations, ISO/IEC 27001 achieved August 2025 and SOC 2 Type II renewed June 2025, alongside device registration with the United Kingdom regulator for its assistant, which is a fuller regulatory position than most of this lane holds.
The case for Heidi Health
  • It is ready to use and priced in public. A free tier with unlimited transcription, a Clinician tier at 150 dollars per user per month billed annually, and published Practice and Enterprise tiers, against infrastructure that is quoted through partner relationships.
  • The broadest coverage in the category, 110 languages across 190 countries and more than 200 specialties, with region appropriate residency operated per market rather than as a single country statement.
  • ISO 42001, the audited AI management system standard, which examines how the organisation governs its models rather than how it protects data. Heidi states it is the first ambient scribe to hold it, and in a category with no product regulator that is the closest available substitute.

Where do Corti and Heidi Health differ most?

The widest separation the AI Health Index records between Corti and Heidi Health is on Model and Technology Transparency, where Corti grades A and Heidi Health grades C. Disclosure

Heidi gates its push to chart integration behind the Practice tier and above. An earlier version of this note said the business associate agreement was gated the same way and that the lower tiers were therefore not a compliant production configuration. That claim traced to competitor comparison pages and is wrong: Heidi's own HIPAA page states it makes the agreement available to every covered entity it works with, with no tier condition. Corrected 13 September 2026.

Corti's evidence for the documentation product specifically is thin and partly commissioned market research, and its United States health privacy posture is asserted rather than documented. Neither vendor publishes a note accuracy or error rate.
