Deep 6 AI vs Massive Bio

Last VerifiedAugust 4, 2026
Verdict

Two trial matching companies that reach the patient from opposite directions. Deep 6 deploys inside the institution, reading unstructured notes, pathology, genomics and laboratory data to match patients and sites in real time across therapeutic areas, and covering feasibility as well as enrolment. Massive Bio needs no integration at all, matching oncology and haematology patients against a very large trial list with certified case managers auditing every match, and it reaches patients directly as well as through sites. For a health system building trial capacity into routine care, Deep 6 is the infrastructure. For a patient whose oncologist runs no trials, Massive Bio is the only one of the two that will ever find them, which is a real difference in who gets access.

Select Deep 6 AI if
  • It reads unstructured clinical data across notes, pathology, genomics and laboratory reports to match patients and sites in real time across therapeutic areas.
  • Coverage spans feasibility and cohort building at study design through enrolment, so sponsors and sites use the same platform.
  • It deploys inside the institution rather than requiring patients to find it, which suits a health system building trial capacity.
Select Massive Bio if
  • It matches without requiring an integration at all, which removes the longest pole in most trial matching deployments.
  • Every generated match is audited by certified oncology case managers before it is used, so a human sits structurally in the path.
  • It reaches patients directly as well as through sites, so a patient whose oncologist has no trial programme is not excluded by their institution.

Disclosure

Both carry the documentation bias that defines trial matching: a patient with a thin or fragmented record matches less often regardless of eligibility, and that population overlaps with the one trials already under enrol. Neither publishes the false negative rate on eligibility screening, which is the only real measure of a matching system. Deep 6 publishes no attestation scoped to the platform, no business associate terms and no governance framework. Massive Bio's patient facing route raises a separate question about who pays for a match a patient found themselves.
