Commure vs Solventum Fluency Align

Last VerifiedAugust 4, 2026
Verdict

Both sell documentation as the front end of the revenue cycle rather than as a clinician convenience, and they get there from opposite histories. Commure assembled it by acquisition, rolling up Athelas, Augmedix and Memora Health so the scribe feeds autonomous coding, documentation integrity and claims automation inside one company. Solventum already owned the destination, having authored the patient classification methodologies the industry codes against, and Fluency Align sits inside its capture to code suite. For a health system that wants the scribe and the coding to come from the party that defined the coding, Solventum is the coherent answer. For one that wants a staffing spectrum, from fully automated notes through specialist review to synchronous human documentation, Commure is the only vendor here offering it. Neither names a model, publishes an accuracy figure or states a bias position.

Select Commure if
  • The service tiers are the real differentiator: AI drafted notes, AI plus specialist review, or synchronous human documentation, so a service line that cannot accept a draft only workflow has a route that does not involve changing vendors.
  • Reach across more than 50 record systems including Epic, Oracle Health and MEDITECH, in ambulatory and acute settings, against an enterprise suite typically procured alongside coding products.
  • A published trust centre with concrete controls named, including encryption standards, key rotation, annual third party penetration tests and annual sub processor reviews, where the alternative publishes only baseline controls.
Select Solventum Fluency Align if
  • The coding content is the asset, not the model. Solventum authored APR DRGs and Potentially Preventable Events and states it has 400 content experts, so the classification expertise is native rather than acquired.
  • One environment covering both front end dictation and ambient capture, allowing phased adoption by clinician readiness instead of a single cutover.
  • Fit with an existing revenue integrity relationship, where the scribe is bought as part of capture to code rather than as a separate documentation programme with its own integration and contract.

Disclosure

Neither vendor names a model, publishes an accuracy figure or publishes a bias and fairness position, and neither publishes a rate card for the tier a health system actually buys. Solventum's corporate description of its technology as audit defensible deterministic AI is unresolved against a probabilistic ambient product and should be pressed. Its early adopter figures, 26 percent lower burnout and 35 percent less charting outside clinic hours, are vendor reported without a control.

Commure's KLAS First Look score of 93.3 comes from a selected customer sample and measures satisfaction rather than accuracy, and its trust centre purpose limitation permits processing customer data to deliver, improve and support its products, which is broad enough to define in contract.
