Recursion runs high throughput cellular experimentation at industrial scale, learning from images and multiomic data it generates itself, with disclosed partnership economics as a listed company and wet laboratory testing inside the loop. Both are strong platform arguments. Both also describe the optics and the assay beautifully while saying almost nothing about the models, which is the question a partner should press before signing anything.

Disclosure

Both describe their measurement approach clearly and their computational layer barely at all, which is the shared gap in instrument led discovery and the question to put to either: what do the models actually do with the imaging data. Neither publishes cell line or donor provenance, which is where the bias question lives for platforms learning from their own biology. Recursion narrowed its internal pipeline in 2025, so any breadth claim predating that should be checked against the current programme list. Neither holds a located security attestation.
