What Changed at Generate:Biomedicines

Every material change AI Health Index has tracked at Generate:Biomedicines: new modules, model and architecture updates, clinical evidence, regulatory status, security certifications, and integration depth. Each entry states what changed, cites its source, and carries our read on what it means for a buyer. The graded assessment of this vendor across all fifteen capability axes sits on its index profile.

Funding rounds, valuations, and awards are not product changes and are not logged here. Acquisitions appear only where there is direct product impact.

Generate:Biomedicines described an agent harness its team built with Claude Code to design CAR T cell signaling domains, combining LLM reasoning with computational tools while scientists steered and inspected each design. Over three rounds it produced a 45 amino acid intracellular domain, under a third the length of the clinical 4-1BB and CD3 zeta domain, that raised CAR surface expression and interferon gamma release in primary T cells. The results are in a company hosted preprint that has not been peer reviewed.

Our read

It is one of the first detailed accounts of a general purpose AI coding agent running a protein design program, down to the models used. The harness is internal, so partners cannot use it yet.
